Why study this course?

The Master of Science degree at Chester Business School is designed to provide both recent graduates and those wishing to develop management careers with a contemporary and sophisticated understanding of the subject area.

All managers in business are expected to have a working knowledge of the principles and practices of financial management. The finance pathway through the MSc will introduce participants to the principles of corporate financial management and financial risk management.

The pathway will enable participants to understand the tools and techniques available to managers such as: capital budgeting decisions, models of capital structure and payout policy, the different techniques for appraising capital projects and how to analyse and control financial risk.

The pathway will build upon the generic understanding of business and management developed during the core stage of the programme and will integrate financial theory and practice.

The skills and techniques taught in this finance pathway are those increasingly sought by finance and financial management practitioners.
