Professor Dai Morgan Evans (1944-2017)

Our friend and colleague, Professor Dai Morgan Evans, passed away in March 2017.  Born in 1944, Dai had long ties with Chester and its archaeology having been a student at Chester King's School and excavated with the Grosvenor Museum.  In his capacity as Visiting Professor of Archaeology her in the Department of History and Archaeology, Dai enriched our programmes through teaching and collaborated on research with staff.

We mourn the loss of a great colleague and friend who made his mark interpreting the landscapes of both England and Wales and who tirelessly fought for archaeology and its recognition via his many roles in government and charitable bodies.  You can read the University's full tribute here.
