Registry Services

Registry Services is a central Department within the University. It encompasses two main sections: Student Programmes Office and MIS (Management Information Systems). We have offices on the Chester and Warrington sites.

Your records

We are responsible for keeping student records for any student who studies at the University. We will maintain these records during your studies, and retain them after you have left.

Further details can be found on our IBIS pages for current students.

Student Programmes Office

The Student Programmes Office can answer queries from University of Chester students and Graduates and provide information on areas such as:

  • Confirmation of student status and results
  • University processes
  • Academic Year dates and Enrolment
  • Assessment and Exams

We can also provide Graduates with copies of their Diploma Supplement and Graduation Certificate if required, at a cost of £10 each per copy.

Management Information Systems

The MIS team maintain the student records database, analyse and provide reports and data to external authorities such as HESA, and provide information to Faculties and Departments.

Other Functions of Registry Services

Enrolment

Every student who studies with us must enrol at the start of every academic year.

Timetabling and Module Registration

A new timetable is created every year for all full and part time Undergraduate students. The timetable is published in late September. Faculty of Health & Social Care and Faculty of Education & Children's Services create their own timetables for students in these Faculties.

Assessment

Registry is responsible for creating the exam timetable and running the exam periods. The Exam timetables are published on our intranet site at agreed points in the academic year.

Results go through the University's strict procedures and Awards Boards to be agreed. We then provide letters and profiles confirming students progress via the intranet. On successful completion of studies we provide the student with their official Diploma Supplement.
