Masters Scholarships

Three Masters Scholarships of £5,000 each, funded through the Santander Universities agreement with the University, are available to full-time taught postgraduate students at Chester. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit to graduates of institutions in the Santander Universities network within the UK, Latin America, Portugal or Spain.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Scholarship, students must:

• have accepted an offer of admission to a one year, full time taught postgraduate programme in any subject;

• on admission to the University of Chester, be a graduate of, or be expecting to graduate from, one of the eligible institutions in the Santander Universities scheme (see below).

Application procedure and selection criteria

To apply, students must complete a Masters Scholarship application form. Applications should be submitted to the Research and Knowledge Transfer Office by 30 July 2012.

The selection of the Scholars will be made by a panel chaired by the Dean of Research and details of selected Scholars will be forwarded to Santander Universities for information. Applications will be judged on two criteria:

• academic quality of the applicant;

• potential for the applicant to benefit from the Scholarship.

If any Scholarships remain vacant after September 2012, further applications will be accepted at any time until 14 December 2012. Vacant Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come first-served basis to eligible applicants meeting the quality criteria thresholds set by the selection panel.
