This meeting is an environmental mass spectrometry special interest group (EMSSIG) series event forming a part of the BMSS SIG meetings and is scheduled for one day. The main theme will focus on Recent Advances in the Methodology for Environmental and Food Matrix Analysis.
The meeting will be linked with the Food and Nutrition SIG coordinated by Dr Simon Hird. Also the meeting will form part of a conference week, March 22 - 26, 2010, of three meetings organised by Professor Chris Smith, which also highlight Nanotechnology and Food, and, Food Science and Technology.

Dr Enrico Davoli of the Capo Laboratorio Spettrometria di Massa Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche "Mario Negri", Milan, has accepted an invitation to present the plenary lecture entitled "Advanced MS techniques in environmental studies; Advantages and current limitations".

Call for Papers
The call for papers is now open! The Meeting programme will be divided into a plenary with keynote lectures, short oral presentations, poster and exhibition sessions.
Delegates will be invited to submit an abstract for consideration by the Scientific Committee. It should be no longer than 250 words and should provide sufficient detail for the committee to determine suitability for the conference. Delegates may indicate a preference for their work to be in poster format otherwise the Scientific Committee will decide the suitability for oral or poster presentation. Prices
The cost of the EMS 2010 conference is £80 including lunch and refreshments.
There will be a conference dinner taking place in the evening on Wednesday 24th, at an extra cost of £35. If delegates choose not to attend this dinner but are staying in accommodation on the Wednesday night, then a normal dinner will be provided.
The Deadline for registration and payment is the 22nd February 2010.
Late registration will incur a supplementary fee of 10%.
