Qualifications

 

  • BA (Hons) in Biology and Physical Education (University of Liverpool)
  • PGCE (University of Leeds)
  • MSc Exercise and Nutrition Science (University of Chester)

Overview

 

Clive has been at the University of Chester, Warrington and its predecessor institutions since 1990.  Prior to joining the University, Clive’s career evolved from delivering a range of leisure, sport and outdoor activity courses in the Further Education sector.

Clive is currently the Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) Physical Activity & Health (Level 6). He also works as a Link Tutor for the University's Partner Colleges delivering collaborative programmes in the areas of Fitness and Health. 

Clive is an accredited Sportscoach UK and Youth Sport Trust tutor. In this capacity he delivers professional development workshops to teachers, sport development practitioners and sports coaches. Clive is also involved in external advising in higher and further education and external examining in the university education sector.

Teaching

 

Clive teaches across all three years on both Foundation Degree and BA (Honours) Degree undergraduate programmes. His present teaching includes the following modules:

  • Physical Activity: Interventions and Measurement (Level 5)
  • Research Methods (Level 5)
  • Sports Coaching: Professional Issues and Challenges (Level 5)

  • Physical Activity Promotion (Level 6)
