An SES Success Story: The National Student Survey

The National Student Survey (NSS) is an annual review of final year undergraduates across the UK which is commissioned by the Higher Education Funding Council for England on behalf of all the relevant funding bodies. As such it is widely recognised as a key measure of student satisfaction within relevant programmes. Final data sets are then displayed on the Unistats website for comparative purposes.

The single honours Undergraduate Sport and Exercise Sciences programme was one of only three courses at the University, and by far the largest, to achieve a 100% overall student satisfaction rate and one of an extremely exclusive and very small group of SES courses nationwide to record a “perfect” rating. Most of the other responses were well above the 80% level as well, so this represents a significant achievement for the course generally and also reflects extremely well on both the systematic approach to the NSS and the enthusiastic and committed approach to the quality student experience taken by all departmental staff.
