Why study this course?

One of the most exciting, dynamic and fastest growing areas of the service sector, Events Management is a diverse industry that is concerned equally with small-scale local functions and mega-events such as the Olympic Games.

Events Management is an interesting and varied subject to study. With such clear links to tourism, sport and music.

Events Management has the potential to provide students with pathways to profitable employment.

 

Features

Single Honours students have the option to undertake a year's paid work placement in industry. This will take place between the second and final year.

Students are offered the chance to go on field visits to local, regional and national events.

Assessment is through a combination of assignments, examinations, group and individual projects, presentations and seminar contributions.

Chester Business School graduates have gone on to work for a wide range of private and public sector industries.

Their jobs within these industries are equally varied and include:

  • Public Relations Officer
  • Events Coordinator
  • Stock Controller
  • Recruitment Consultant

Some graduates have also decided to stay at Chester and go on to study on our range of masters level programmes, for example the MSc Management and the MBA.

BTEC: BTEC National Diploma/Certificate: merit/distinction profile
Irish/Scottish: B in 4 subjects
International Baccalaureate: 26 points
QAA: QAA recognised Access to HE Diploma, Open College Units or Open University Credits
OCR: OCR National Extended/Diploma: merit/distinction profile
