The focus of the BSc (Hons) in Professional Practice is professional practice in health and social care offered in a flexible, dynamic, responsive, modular system to enable students to explore their personal and professional interests.

The format is intended to both develop practitioners who are already effective in their own field of practice and also aims to prepare practitioners for the expanding future roles within health and social care. 

The content of the programme addresses a wide range of interesting academic and practice-based issues which are of concern to practitioners. 

A wide range of accredited modules is offered to facilitate individualised learning, promote career opportunities and equip practitioners to play a key role in leading and influencing change within practice.

The Practice of Sexual Health: This module involves a clinical placement and assessment within Genito-urinary Medicine Clinics. MW6102 Option  20

Students will be exposed to a variety of assessment methods designed to ensure that the content, outcomes and level of the modules are measured in a fair and transparent manner. 

In this programme, the following methods are used: seminar presentations, guided and directed study, literature reviews, practice assessments and written academic assignments to demonstrate application of theory to practice.

This BSc (Hons) programme in Professional Practice is designed to meet the educational and professional development needs of a wide range of health and social care professionals who work at a clinical and managerial level.

This programme is available to NMC registered nurses and midwives and other -registered health andf social care practitioners.

Applicants must be able to provide evidence of appropriate prior education and professional study (120 credits at Level 4 and 120 credits at level 5) prior to starting the programme.

Applicants must have access to a relevant practice environment so that reflective practice activities can be utilised and, where appropriate, competencies achieved.
