The University organises a wide range of activities to give young people the chance to learn about student life and the options available to them in Higher Education.

...working with young people from primary school up to sixth form to raise their awareness of Higher Education.

These events are targeted at young people from groups that are under-represented in Higher Education, including young people from disadvantaged social and economic backgrounds, disabled young people and those in care. We work with young people from primary school up to sixth form to raise their awareness of Higher Education and to also increase their aspiration and motivation.

Our range of activities includes:

Taster Days - a general introduction to university with a sample lecture from an academic department, a campus tour and the opportunity to meet current students.

Subject Days - designed to raise awareness of a particular subject and the course and career opportunities available within the subject area.

Curriculum Enhancement - subject specific activities which will inspire, motivate, develop knowledge and improve attainment.

Masterclass - activities delivered by subject experts, designed to be challenging and stimulating to raise attainment and aspirations. They deepen understanding and increase knowledge on important issues and developments in a specific subject area, usually linked to the school or college curriculum.

Revision Classes - aimed at GCSE, AS and A2 Levels, relating to specific subject specifications.

Primary events - an early introduction to higher education, giving primary pupils the opportunity to visit the University.

We also organise events on request, so we encourage Aimhigher areas and school co-ordinators to contact us to discuss requirements.
