Widening Participation

The University of Chester is committed to widening participation, as well as raising aspirations, to ensure that all students can access the opportunities on offer when progressing onto higher education, regardless of their background

The Outreach Office has four Widening Participation Officers working with targeted schools and colleges across the local area and sub-region. This activity can range from 1-to-1 sessions with students, to large scale campus visits for up to 300 students.

The Widening Participation strategy of the institution looks at the entire life-cycle of a student to ensure they are supported before, during and after their studies with us. This can range from financial support in the form of fee waivers, as well as advice and guidance before their application, and after their graduation.
