We are delighted to invite Year 12 and Year 13 students to an engaging and thought-provoking Social and Political Science Conference at the University of Chester.

This free conference offers an exciting opportunity for students to:
- Explore pressing global issues with insights from leading academics;
- Participate in interactive sessions across Criminology, Sociology, Counselling, and Global Affairs, Politics & International Relations;
- Discover rewarding career paths addressing societal and global challenges.
The event is designed to inspire critical thinking and encourage students to see the transformative potential of pursuing a degree in Social and Political Sciences.
Event Schedule:
- 10:00 AM: Welcome & Introduction Talk
- 10:15 AM – 12:15 PM: Campus Tour & Social Science Expo
- Tour of the Exton Park Campus, including our state-of-the-art library.
- Interactive Social Science Expo featuring:
- Representatives from Cheshire Police, Chapter Mental Health, and Chester & District Samaritans.
- Course information on Criminology, Sociology, Counselling, and Global Affairs, Politics & International Relations.
- Career and volunteering opportunities.
- Themed exhibits, including "Crime in Media" and student research showcases.
- Participation from student societies, including the Criminology Society and Counselling Society.
- 12:15 PM – 12:45 PM: Lunch
- 12:45 PM – 1:05 PM: Dr. Paul French (Criminology)
- 1:05 PM – 1:25 PM: Amanda McGarry (Counselling)
- 1:25 PM – 1:45 PM: Global Affairs, Politics & International Relations

Exton Park is centrally located in Chester, and accessible via the M53, A483, A41, A56, and public transport from the city centre.

Cycling
The Greenway Gate, accessible between 7am – 9pm with your University pass, is located at the back of the overflow car park and is the nearest point of access to the Millennium Greenway cycle path that connects to routes throughout the city.
Public Transport
Bache train station is a 15-minute walk from Exton Park and Chester railway station is a 20-minute walk. Arriva 1A and Arriva 1 run frequent services that stop with a short walk to Exton Park. All three Park and Ride routes, PR1, PR2 and PR3 have connections within walking distance to Exton Park.
Parking
Parking on campus is limited, so we recommend using public transport and/or walking if possible.
