Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Teaching Pathways

One of the key aims of CFPP which emerges from its applied research agenda, is to promote knowledge and understanding between the public policy sector and other agencies by generating programmes of CPD for those working in this area (from faith-based organisations and government, voluntary sector, industry etc).

This is delivered via short courses, and Masters and professional doctorate portfolios (such as the Professional Doctorate in Practical Theology), as well as Ph.D programmes. There are also clear pathways for existing University of Chester undergraduates (levels 4 - 6) within the Department of Theology and Religious Studies that feed directly into the masters and Doctoral programmes run by the Centre.

CFPP and its staff bring a wide experience of teaching and research supervision at these levels. The range of courses taught will include public theology, practical theology, urban theology, Christian social ethics, Muslim and Islamic Studies and religious studies.
