The Faculty of Education and Children's Services has a proud history of developing programmes to enable our students to become highly effective professional practitioners.

Founded as a college to train teachers in the 19th Century, we now provide programmes not only for the teaching profession but also for the wider children's workforce.

The Faculty has been keen to support the Every Child Matters agenda and we have audited all our programmes carefully to provide opportunities for all our students to work alongside other Children's Services professionals to help develop the kinds of integrated planning and  multi-disciplinary working advocated by the Children Act 2004.
