Student Trip to the EU Parliament in Brussels

Over the Easter break, a group of lucky law and politics students visited the European Union Parliament in Brussels.

The trip was sponsored by a local North West MEP Sajjidd Karim, who is a leading figure on the Legal Affairs committee at the EU Parliament.

The students had an enjoyable time exploring the cultural highlights of Brussels, including the impressive historic exhibition at the Waterloo battlefield.  They were entertained to a very informative and insightful talk on the workings of the EU parliament by a professional guide and had lunch in the EU Parliament canteen.  They returned home via Eurostar to St. Pancras on 9th April 2013.

It is the intention of the Law School to make these trips an annual event, to either Brussels or Strasbourg, and to make sure students have the opportunity to see the European Union in action.
