Criminology lecturer talks on the cultural dimensions of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)

Senior lecturer in Criminology and Deputy Head of Department, Dr Sharon Morley talks on the intersections of FGM, culture and criminalisation at University of Chester symposium

November 3rd 2014 sees a one-day symposium being held at the University of Chester on the subject of Female Genital Mutilation. Organised by Dr Emma Rees (Dept of English) and Dr Caroline Chappell (Chester Law School), the event brings together current dialogue and discussion on this critical topic.

Dr Sharon Morley, a member of the Department of Social and Political Science's Criminology programme team, specialises in the subject of women and violence and at this event untangles the complexities of culture, feminity and criminalisation.
