On Thursday, February 15, between 12 midday and 3pm, a Chinese New Year Fair is being organised on the University’s Parkgate Road Campus. Chinese food and tea stands, paper cutting, and Chinese character writing are just some of the delights on offer. Visitors will also have the opportunity to take part in traditional Chinese New Year games and activities.

The events have been organised through the University’s China Centre. One of the organisers, Dr Min Ge, who is Programme Leader in Chinese Studies at the University, said: “This is an opportunity to not only celebrate Chinese culture, but also to bring all kinds of different cultures together. We are extremely excited to share a range of games, activities, and cultural experiences, to enable everyone to experience what we do in China at New Year.”

The Chinese New Year Fair takes place in the Small Hall, Building CSM001, on the University of Chester’s Parkgate Road Campus.

The events are open to the general public as well as staff and students at the University. Tickets are free but must be booked by contacting chinacentre@chester.ac.uk
