Dr Jayne Price

Biography

Dr Jayne Price is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for Criminology at the University of Chester. Within this role, Jayne is responsible for the leadership, management and assessment of their programme. This includes the ongoing curriculum development and communicating with internal and external stakeholders. A key feature of this role includes supporting students in their positive experience of the programme through ongoing feedback loops and reflexive practice. Dr Price is also working towards her MA Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and holds SFHEA.

Teaching and Supervision

Jayne teaches across the undergraduate Criminology programme and supervises a number of postgraduate students.

Research and Knowledge Exchange

Her principal research interests lie within the youth justice/young adult agenda and the experiences of this population within the Criminal Justice System. This has included her PhD research which sought to establish the most effective and progressive ways of supporting young people through transitions between the juvenile secure estate and young adult estate. Further research into young peoples' experiences of the Youth Justice System has included participatory methods. Through practical experience and academic research, has sound knowledge and holistic understanding of the youth justice and young adult agenda, policy and practice. Jayne has also been involved within a project exploring widening participation and the involvement of those with criminal convictions accessing and participating in University life.
