Biography

Vicky Dudley is a registered social worker and a lecturer at the University of Chester, Shrewsbury campus. She originally qualified as a child protection social worker but spent most of her time specialising in working with people who experienced drug and alcohol problems. This became an area of passion encouraging people to see past presenting behaviours and look to the underlying reason that people may turn to substances as a way of coping with life's adversities.

Teaching and Supervision

Vicky Dudley teaches across a variety of modules and with students who are completing the Social Work Degree Apprenticeship route at UCS (University Chester Shrewsbury campus).

Research and Knowledge Exchange

Vicky Dudley main interested research areas are around Mental Health social work and individuals who use substances. Encouraging future social workers to look past presenting behaviours and developing tools and techniques around engagement. As we are in a ever changing world to also develop new ideas of utilising group work with experts by experience and inter-professional working.
