Each June, we create an exhibition for our students from across the School for the Creative Industries to showcase their exceptional artwork.
The Art Sponsorship fund is a charitable initiative dedicated to celebrating and supporting outstanding creative students at the University of Chester. Through sponsorship, donations, and community engagement, we can provide recognition to emerging talent across visual arts, design, and multimedia.

Yildiz Elis Yildirim - BA (Hons) Fine Art & Graphic DesignA white swan is perched on the river shore, its reflection visible in the water, amidst a serene natural setting.
“My current practice explores how perception and attention can be reshaped through constructed imagery. In this body of work, I create experimental photographs by physically inserting and digitally layering hand-made sculptural objects into staged scenes. These ambiguous forms, crafted from mixed materials, are placed in unexpected positions within the frame to interrupt habitual patterns of viewing and rewire visual priorities. By directing the viewer’s gaze toward new focal points, the work questions what we notice and how we interpret images. A central theme is the interplay between the flat and the dimensional-photographic illusion versus sculptural reality. This dialogue challenges the boundary between photography and object-making, blurring the line between image and artefact. The process-led nature of the work allows room for improvisation, intuition, and conceptual control. Ultimately, this project aims to activate playful, critical engagement with how images are constructed and consumed in an era saturated with visual information.”
