Postgraduate Art Therapy Open Event
Discover what it’s like to study MA Art Therapy at our Postgraduate Open Event and take your first step into the creative and therapeutic spaces that will shape your training. This event is designed to give prospective students a genuine insight into the course and the environment in which it is taught. You’ll have the opportunity to experience the art therapy studio spaces, gaining a sense of the atmosphere, materials, and creative setting that support learning, reflection, and professional development. You will also explore the course structure, teaching philosophy, placements, and progression into professional practice. There will be time to meet the Course Leader, ask questions, and discuss what studying art therapy at postgraduate level really involves. Whether you are at the early stages of considering an application or already holding an offer, this event offers a supportive and informative space to explore the course, connect with the teaching team, and imagine yourself as part of the learning community.
The Wheeler building is located in the centre of Chester on Castle Drive by the River Dee. It is accessible via the M53, A55, A483, A51 and A41, and public transport from the city centre.

Chester railway station is a 20-minute walk from Wheeler and the Arriva 1 and 11 run frequent services that stop within a short walking distance. The Arrowebrook Coaches 26 also stops nearby. Parking is not available for students at Wheeler, however, all three Park and Ride routes, PR1, PR2 and PR3 have connections within walking distance to the site.
