What is your name and what did you study?
I’m Luis and I’m a BA Acting graduate.
Why did you choose Chester?
Chester just felt right! The course stood out to me for being so industry-focused and practical.
What did you enjoy most about your course?
I would say getting to see my work on the big screen! As part of our showcase, we had the opportunity to have it screened at Storyhouse and the whole experience reinforced my passion for the craft.
Do you have any advice for someone who is thinking about a career in acting?
Go for it! It’s not the easiest road, but if it excites you and drives you, that’s reason enough to go for it.
What graduate role have you commenced? What area(s) are you working in and what does this entail day-to-day?
I decided to continue my studies in Chester as a Postgraduate! The three years I spent at Chester encouraged me to keep developing my craft and master my knowledge in the horror genre specifically.
How did your time at Chester prepare you for your current role?
Throughout my degree, I had the opportunity to perform a variety of genres but there was one that always stood out to me: the horror genre. This course helped me find my passion. I always felt supported by my lecturers and felt encouraged to dig deeper into something meaningful and fun to me, making my university journey smooth.
Did you take part in any extracurricular activities, societies, or internships while studying?
I had the privilege to start up a new performance-focused society with my friends from the course, where we got to put our skills and knowledge into practice outside the lecture room.
