Here at the University of Chester, we're always working to make your experience even better.

We’re always looking to enhance your university experience and make it the best it could possibly be. This includes investing in new campus developments and ensuring our facilities meet the needs of our students.

Recent developments include:

  • a complete refurbishment of our Seaborne library with a range of new modern study spaces
  • the creation of our new School of Education building featuring a range of facilities, including a cinema room
  • new and refurbished social spaces, including an update to our SU bar and a new outdoor social lounge.

Chester Business School, Queen's Park

We’re creating an exciting new FinTech (Financial Technology) Lab at Queen’s Park. This modern lab will mimic a fast-paced, exciting trading floor to create an immersive experience for our Finance and Accounting students. 

Binks, Exton Park

We’re replacing the roof of the Binks building and creating two new large teaching spaces on the second floor of Binks to enable us to create modern, accessible new lecture theatres, which will be used by students across a range of courses.

Outdoor Seating, School of Education, Exton Park

We’re building outdoor seating outside the School of Education to create an outdoor teaching, learning and social space, for skills training, employer workshops, presentations, performances and events. We’ll also use it as part of on-campus events, including Varsity.

A screen will also be installed in the front of the School of Education building, which can be used for outdoor cinema experiences and for streaming key events in the student calendar, including Graduation. The outdoor seating area will also feature a covered gazebo to ensure this space can be used all year.

Thomas Building Lab Upgrades

Our Animal Sciences students will benefit from us updating the Thomas Building labs. We are completely refurbishing our animal handling facilities on the ground and first floor. The new labs will include an upgraded reptile room, a state-of-the-art marine facility a dedicated student project room. Alongside this, there will also be specialist aquariums and reptile vivariums. These upgrades will provide students with an exceptional hands-on learning environment.

New Bar Area

We've recently refurbished our SU bar, updating your go-to spot to catch up with friends, grab a drink or enjoy a night out after lectures. 

Enjoy the new bar with a range of social events including live music and quizzes, drinks offers or have a quiet drink and bite to eat over a game of pool.
