Former University student a star of Tomorrow as debut music single launches
A former University of Chester student is getting ready to release his debut music single.

Danny Keatman, 23, who completed a BA in Popular Music Performance, will be launching his positivity-charged single Tomorrow on Friday, September 26.
The Chester-based singer-songwriter, who fell in love with the city and decided to make it his own during his time studying, has thanked the University for helping him on his way to realising his dream.
Danny said: “Chester’s a beautiful city to study in. It’s full of history and stories, which for a songwriter makes it an inspiring place. Plus there’s some great music venues, like Alexander’s Live.
“The University and Popular Music course allowed me to be myself and study in my own way, which was really great for my musical ideas and work. The staff, especially Kristian Rozells, Senior Lecturer in Popular Music, created a supportive and encouraging environment, which certainly helped with being creative – and actually finishing stuff!”
The new song Tomorrow features an anthemic pop chorus: “Why wait till tomorrow when you have today? We can take on the world!”, advice which Danny is taking by celebrating life to the full with his colour-infused brand of heartfelt songwriting and upbeat, feelgood music.
Speaking about the inspiration for the song, Danny said: “Tomorrow was written at the lowest point in my life after the breakup of a toxic relationship. I imagined how things could be, rather than how they actually were. Why wait till tomorrow when you have today? Don’t let anything get in your way!”
Danny added: “Whilst studying I contacted the guitarist from Spiritualised, Tony ‘Doggen’ Foster, as I really liked his spacey, soul-like guitar style and felt it would complement my songwriting. His spacey, soul-infused guitar style really suits my songs and it was a pleasure and honour to work with him.”
Tomorrow was recorded at ‘Doggen’s’ Nottingham Mouse House studio, with ‘Doggen’ on guitars, Troy Foster on bass and drums and Ellie Mcnamara on backing vocals.
Danny has built a reputation for energetic and emotive live performances, securing a headline spot at the Rock Against Racism anniversary gig and an acoustic set at the iconic Godiva Festival.
Kristian Rozells said: “This is fantastic news for Danny and for the university. Danny was a pleasure to teach and I am so pleased to hear that all of his hard work is paying off.”
A limited number of tickets are available for the debut single launch party, at St Mary’s Creative Space, St Mary’s Hill, Chester, on Saturday, September 27, at 6.30pm. Email dannykeatmansmusic@gmail.com for details.
Tomorrow will be available digitally at noon on Friday, September 26 on all streaming platforms.
