No, you only need an interest in becoming a teacher!

Though we can accommodate students who wish to study their PGCE part time, there are limited options with which to do this. Nevertheless, we will provide all the information you need to consider this option.

The PGCE is an intensive full‑time course, and most trainees find it difficult to balance regular work alongside placements and Master’s‑level study. Some flexible or occasional work may be possible, but it’s important to think carefully about the workload. You can discuss your circumstances at the event and get honest advice from staff and recent trainees.

Yes, we often speak to prospective students about options for becoming a teacher locally. You can hear far more about our School-Led PGCEs and local placement opportunities; the process for placement allocation will be fully outlined during the event.

Yes! Our events help you compare routes and find out/understand what option will best fit your strengths. You’ll be able to talk to experts from our Primary, Secondary, Early Years, and School-Led teams.

Yes. Our teams will be able to talk you through all of the financial support options available to you, both from the Department for Education and the University of Chester.
