Remond House
Sarah Parker Remond House is our dedicated teaching block just a five-minute walk from our Time Square building. With a focus on the training and development of nurses, teachers and social workers, Remond House includes high-quality, subject-specific facilities to ensure you get the best possible practical experience while studying with us. Remond House also provides an info point that acts as a hub for a number of student services such as student support, Registry Services and Finance.
Who was Sarah Parker Remond?
Sarah Parker Remond (1826-1894) was a prominent anti-slavery and women’s rights campaigner from America, who gave a series of lectures in Warrington in the mid-1800s. With the building named after Remond, this signals the University’s continuing link with Warrington and the local community, whilst supporting and promoting the University’s vision to deliver a welcoming and inclusive student community that helps to positively shape society.
Time Square
Our town centre location in Time Square is a prominent hub for University Centre Warrington, offering space for students, businesses, schools, colleges and the local community to engage and connect. Our Time Square building provides bookable learning spaces with laptops and digital resources, breakout spaces for seminars and a lecture space for talks and events.
Through the provision of a highly accessible space for local learners and businesses, the town centre location also provides a platform for University Centre Warrington to work closely with regional partners. This has included Further Education partners, as well as key business support partners, such as Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership, on the delivery of skills programmes like Accelerate.
Our Time Square building also supports University Centre Warrington’s digital first approach, with the inclusion of an innovative Digital Learning Centre (DLC). The DLC provides the following services:
- a technology-rich working environment
- study skills support
- learning technology
- ICT support.
While supporting traditional teaching, our Time Square building is also a space for local businesses, schools and colleges to engage with us. With the ambition to support lifelong learning and improve learners' digital skills, this site enables University Centre Warrington to deliver CPD and short courses through innovative means such as a video wall, wall-mounted screens, 3D printers, tablets, VR/AR headsets and online/remote streamed lessons.
Time Square is University Centre Warrington’s community hub and main enquiries point. Remond House is our dedicated teaching block for the majority of our Warrington-based courses. Both are centrally located within Warrington town centre, easily accessible via the M6 and M62, and public transport.

Cycling and Walking
Warrington is fairly flat and compact making it perfect for cycling. There are over 100 miles of cycle routes in Warrington, and more are being added. This cycle route map highlights the various cycle paths across Warrington.
Cycle Storage
Bicycle parking facilities will be provided at Remond House and there are internal lockers for storing belongings in both Time Square and Remond House.
Public Transport
Warrington is well serviced by public transport. We recommend using a journey planner to plan your specific routes and to get the most up to date information on timetables.
Train
The two major rail stations Warrington Bank Quay and Warrington Central are a short 6-10 minute walk from our two town centre locations. Warrington Bank Quay has regular services for access from North Wales, Chester, Manchester, Leeds and Blackpool while Warrington Central provides regular links to Liverpool and Manchester.
If you are aged between 16-30 or are a mature student in full time education, you may be eligible for a railcard. A minimum £12 fare applies to journeys before 10 a.m., so if you regularly travel before 10 a.m. a Season Ticket could be the best way to save money on your journeys.
Bus
Warrington Bus Interchange is also within short walking distance. Discounted travel is available on certain services operated by Warrington Own buses including services 1, 2, 11, 12 16, 16A, 20, 21 and 32, more information here.
Parking
There is no dedicated University car park in Warrington Town Centre and the University does not issue parking permits for University Centre Warrington. There are car parks within the town centre, close to both sites.
