Digital Award Documentation via Gradintelligence

The University of Chester partners with Gradintelligence to provide Digital Award Certificates, Higher Education Achievement Reports (HEARs) and Diploma Supplements.

Gradintelligence is a globally established service, with over a thousand universities and many thousands of employers, embassies, credential check agencies and ministries of education using it to verify student achievements.

In addition to this:

  • All documents held within and shared via the Gradintelligence system are original versions issued by University officials.
  • Documents issued via Gradintelligence are digitally signed with an electronic seal (University of Chester advanced electronic signature (AdES) with a qualified electronic certificated (QES)).
  • These digital credentials are compliant with international standards and are legally valid, tamper-proof documents that you can freely share with anyone you choose, as verification of your University achievements.

These digital documents are available to students who completed their awards in or after June 2024.

The service has now also been extended to alumni whose awards were confirmed from October 2012 to June 2024. They can now request a Digital Award Certificate and Digital Transcript via the online shop.

Please note that the University will only produce a physical copy of the Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR), Diploma Supplement or Transcript where a digital copy is not possible.

Yes, Gradintelligence gives you full control over your documentation, so you can share these with anyone you wish, whether this be an employer, another university, or an individual.

No, once issued access to the digital documents via Gradintelligence is retained indefinitely.

Paper copies of HEARs and Diploma Supplements will no longer be issued; these documents will now be issued in digital form only and will be permanently accessible via Gradintelligence.

A paper copy of the award certificate is still issued, either at the Graduation Ceremony if the award entitles a student to attend, or via the post; if sent via the post, this will be done within two months of the award being confirmed.

By activating their account, the student also consents to benefit from a number of additional, optional services offered by Gradintelligence. These allow them to build their profile and be matched to opportunities for jobs, further studies courses and events based on the information recorded in their digital documents and within their profile. They can opt out of these at any time via their Communication Settings in Gradintelligence.

For more information about how Gradintelligence stores, processes, and secures data, visit Gradintelligence: Privacy.

If a student is having any problems locating their activation email or accessing their account, they can resolve them on the Gradintelligence website. If they’re still having problems, or if anyone has any questions about any aspect of the Gradintelligence service, contact Gradintelligence Customer Services.

Questions about the content of the documents should be addressed to the University of Chester Registry Assessment Team at assessment@chester.ac.uk.

A student whose award was confirmed before June 2024 should already have a paper copy of their award documentation.

If a student’s award was confirmed after October 2012, they can now request a Digital Award Certificate and Digital Transcript. This can be ordered via the online shop.

Where this digital feature is available, we will no longer be able to supply paper copies of transcripts.

Replacement copies of certificates can be ordered via the online shop.
