Honours Degree | Possession of a 2:1 honours degree in any area of Psychology or social science relevant to the proposed area of study, together with a demonstration by the applicant at interview that they are prepared for study at MRes level, is required. The proposed area of study must fit with the Division of Psychology’s research portfolio, and applicants are required to submit a detailed research proposal as part of the application materials. A 2:2 honours degree will only be considered in combination with extensive relevant experience. |
Interview | Assuming all entry criteria have been met, including submission of a detailed research proposal that has been judged to be appropriate for an MRes project by members of an admissions panel, applicants are invited to attend a brief interview with the panel. During this interview, applicants are asked questions about their proposed project, their previous experience, and their motivations for undertaking the course. The panel ensures that applicants understand the nature of the MRes, and applicants also have an opportunity to ask questions they may have about the course. |
Students from countries outside the UK are expected to have entry qualifications roughly equivalent to UK A Level for undergraduate study and British Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) for postgraduate study. To help you to interpret these equivalents, please select your country/region of residence to see the corresponding entry qualifications, along with information about your local representatives, events, information and contacts.
