Nursing and Midwifery Selection Days

Read through our advice to learn about the next steps after you've been invited to a selection day.

Selection Day Information

During our selection day, you will be asked to complete a Real-Life Scenarios Assessment (RLSA) which is a way of assessing how you would react to certain situations. The RLSA will consist of eleven scenarios with three possible responses. You simply try to imagine yourself in each scenario and pick the response closest to how you would react if you were in that position. The scenarios will be everyday examples.

The RLSA will be completed online on the day on your phone or tablet. University guest Wi-Fi will be available. Candidates with a medical condition, disability or learning need may request a paper version in advance.

The RLSA will be used to assess your suitability for a place. It will be reviewed by a panel of an experienced academic member of staff, service user and/or practice staff.

Please note you will not have an interview.
