Oliver Rowan

I am studying for a BA (Hons) in Product Design and am currently a second year student. When going through the application process I went to various open days and had a tour around the Creative Campus Kingsway as part of my portfolio interview. Seeing the Kingsway campus secured my decision due to how relaxing and calm the environment was and still is. It made the transition from my A Level experience to university life all the more seamless.

I always wanted to follow a path in Art and Design after taking Product Design at A Level and having various interviews and discussions with the tutors and students, it solidified my career path and I knew that this was what I wanted to do. I always wanted to live in the city of Chester as it’s a beautiful city with many hidden gems. My course offers a lot, and every day I learn something new; from a new method of designing to looking at life and my designs from different directions to solving a problem. I love my course and I enjoy every day of it; there isn’t a specific part or topic as I enjoy them all.

At the end of my course my aim is to work in the industry continuing to learn all I can and experiencing new things and eventually owning my own business. Having experienced the course I’d take every opportunity as it comes, this might be the only time you get to do it. I would utilise all the facilities and jump into university life wholeheartedly; it’s an amazing experience and every minute counts.
