Lecturer in Criminology
A specific interest in improving student experience through inclusive teaching and learning and developing student’s career readiness throughout their studies. A recent post as disability link tutor for the department has enhanced this passion to improving the experience of students with disabilities and seeking to implement improvements to ensure academic staff and disability services are meeting the needs of those with disabilities. Similarly, being a member of the Teaching and Learning Committee has included involvement in developing the department’s employability strategy, which has provoked interest in embedding career readiness throughout levels 4, 5 and 6 of our Undergraduate programmes.
A passion for innovative teaching practices to engage students in critical discussions around the role of broader social inequalities in criminality. A focus on imbalances of power and the uneven distribution of harm throughout societies, enabling students to apply these debates to real word examples. Additionally, embedding career readiness development throughout levels 4, 5 and 6.
