Dr Mahesh Odiyoor

Dr Mahesh Odiyoor is an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist who specialises in the Psychiatry of Intellectual Disabilities (ID) at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP). Mahesh has been instrumental in setting up the Centre for Autism, Neurodevelopmental Disorders, and Intellectual Disability (CANDDID) in 2019.
Dr Mahesh Odiyoor is an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist who specialises in the Psychiatry of Intellectual Disabilities (ID), at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. He has worked from 2009 to present in this role.
Mahesh has extensive management experience as a Clinical Director at CWP for a range of services since 2011. Currently he has strategic leadership responsibility within CWP as a Strategic Clinical Director for the ID, NDD and ABI caregroup and regionally as the Clinical lead and the deputy chair of the Northwest Learning disability and ASD operational delivery network (ODN) (2017 – ongoing). In addition, Mahesh has provided management consultation to Lancashire care Foundation Trust from 2017- 2019. Mahesh is also the elected member of the Executive team of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Faculty of Intellectual Disability (2019 – ongoing) having served as the Mersey regional specialty representative (2012 – 20).
Mahesh has an ongoing interest in research and teaching having been awarded an MD degree from the University of Liverpool in 2014. He has a number of publications and is part of a number of ongoing research projects at present. He has also over the years planned and delivered a number of teaching/training programmes for a range of audiences.
