Make the most of student life

Clubs and societies aren't the only way to get involved in student life.

From volunteering opportunities and fitness classes to representing your peers as a Student Voice Rep or Student Race Advocate, there are loads of ways to get involved and make your mark: 

Volunteering

From student-led projects like dog walking and the Hedgehog Friendly Campus Project to one-off opportunities with local providers, there are lots of ways to get involved with volunteering - plus you might even make new friends in the process.

Chaplaincy
 
In addition to offering support, Chaplaincy run lots of fun sessions like gardening, tea parties and arts and crafts on a weekly basis. All sessions are open to all - you don't need to be religious to attend!
 
activeCHESTER

Our activeCHESTER sessions are a great way to meet new friends in a fun and relaxed environment. From basketball and badminton to tennis and cricket, there's something for everyone - and they’re all free – just remember to book your place before you attend.

Fitness classes
 
We also run free weekly fitness classes for all students and staff. These are a great way to stay active and make new friends without eating into your student loan.

Student Race Advocates
 
Every year we employ Student Race Advocates to work on different projects across the University related to race and ethnicity. We tend to recruit in term 1 - so look out for upcoming vacancies if you're interested.

Student Ambassador
 
Becoming a Student Ambassador is a great way to earn some extra cash on a flexible basis. Roles are varied - and it's up to you how many hours you do per month. We recruit most Student Ambassadors in term 1 - so look out for upcoming vacancies.
 
Union Assembly

Union Assembly is CSU’s student decision-making body. It is where your ideas and motions are discussed, debated, and voted on, which helps to lead the direction of CSU and your Elected Officers. They hold elections in term 1 so keep an eye on CSU's social channels if you're interested.
