Timetable FAQs
Discover how your timetable works and how to read yours.
Looking for more information about your timetable - or just received your timetable and have no idea what it means? We've got you covered - on this page you can find our Timetable FAQs.
Where can I find my timetable?
If you got the grades you needed to join us on Results day, your timetable will be available to view in the UoC app or on Portal from 1st September. If you were offered a place via Clearing your timetable should be available to view within a couple of weeks of receiving your Welcome email.
How can I tell what type of session I have?
You can view your session type on your timetable. Session types include:
- In-person teaching
- Live online teaching
- Dual Delivery
- Essential online activity
- Field visit
- Placement/practice
- Skills session
Will my timetable be the same all year?
Yes. The timetable we release in September is your timetable for the 2026/27 academic year.
Releasing your whole year timetable at the start of the year makes it easier for you to book in shifts for part-time work, arrange childcare or schedule your time effectively.
Please note: Whilst we want the timetable to be as stable as possible, there are times when changes cannot be avoided.
How do I know if a session has been cancelled or rescheduled?
We try and minimise cancelling teaching sessions, however sometimes this is unavoidable. Your faculty is responsible for contacting you to let you know if a session has been cancelled. They may do this in a number of ways:
- Push notification on the UoC app
- Email sent to your student email address
Can I change my timetable?
No. It is not possible to change timetables to suit individual needs.
Timetabling is extremely complicated and it takes our team months to work out everyone's timetable to ensure there are minimal breaks between sessions and minimal days which contain only one session.
You can find more information about timetabling on Portal here.
