University of Chester international students report outstanding experience in global survey

Run independently by Etio, the ISB is conducted annually with enrolled international students across the globe. In 2024 alone, more than 100,000 students worldwide took part. The University of Chester has now participated in the survey for the fourth consecutive year, reflecting its ongoing commitment to listening to international students and responding to their feedback. 

The 2025 Wave 2 survey, conducted in November and December 2025, highlights strong and consistent satisfaction across every stage of the international student journey, from arrival and learning, to living, support and overall experience. 

Key results from the 2025 International Student Barometer at the University of Chester found: 

• 98% of international students feel safe and secure on campus 

• 97% are satisfied with the quality of the campus environment and buildings 

• 97% are satisfied with the quality of the learning spaces 

• 96% are satisfied with the subject area expertise of lecturers 

• 95% are satisfied with their arrival experience 

• 95% are satisfied with their learning experience 

• 94% are satisfied with their living experience 

• 94% are satisfied with their support experience 
• 93% are satisfied with their overall experience at the University of Chester 

The International Student Barometer provides universities with independent, globally benchmarked insight into the international student experience across the entire student lifecycle. By combining institution‑specific feedback with comparable international data, the survey enables institutions to identify strengths, address areas for improvement and make evidence‑based decisions that enhance student satisfaction, retention and global competitiveness. 

At the University of Chester, insights from the ISB inform planning and continuous improvement activity across academic, pastoral and campus services. The latest results reaffirm the University’s focus on transition and integration, high‑quality teaching and learning facilities, and an inclusive campus environment for students from around the world.
