Teaching and research resources for Biological Sciences consist of spacious and well-equipped lecture and seminar rooms along with modern Biology and Biochemistry laboratories and specialist teaching facilities for Animal Behaviour, Forensic biology, Nutrition, Human Biology and Biomedical Sciences.

The research facilities at Chester comprise of a dedicated biochemistry laboratory with a tissue culture facility, a microbiology laboratory and a molecular biology suite. In addition, we also have a purpose built facility for behavioural studies and a dedicated laboratory space for nutrition and dietetics research.

Additional collaboration with Reaseheath college is a central component of many of the animal based programmes at Chester. Reaseheath have renowned facilities for animal management including extensive collections of both domestic and exotic animals for student study.

In addition, facilities at the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust and the Manchester Blood Centre are utilised and access to CAT and duplex scannners has been arranged through a collaborative agreement with a local NHS trust.
