How to Submit

Submission Guidelines for Pandora’s Inbox

  • Submission is only open to current students and staff of the University of Chester.
  • Submissions of poems, flash fictions and sketches are welcome from 1st October to 15th March.
  • Poems must be no more than 36 lines; flashes and sketches no more than 360 words.
  • Your piece(s) must be original and previously unpublished. Poems, flashes and sketches that have been written for seminars or assignments (past or forthcoming) are welcome. In a nutshell, if they are well written, send them in for consideration.
  • You may submit up to 4 pieces each academic year. Do not submit work that is currently being considered by another magazine.
  • Each piece should be titled and your name (in the form you wish it to be printed) should appear below the title. Below each piece should be your Chester University email address.
  • Text should be single-spaced and in 12-point Times New Roman font.
  • Each piece should be saved as an individual Word document (‘doc’, ‘docx’ or ‘rtf’, not ‘odt’) and sent as an attachment from your Chester University email account to the General Editor, Dr Ashley Chantler: a.chantler@chester.ac.uk
  • The editors reserve the right to make minor changes to grammar, spelling or punctuation. If more substantive revisions are required, you will be consulted.
  • The editors will contact you by email to inform you of their decision. Please note that there may be a delay during busy or holiday periods.
  • All submissions will be considered for publication in Pandora’s Box.
  • If your work appears in Pandora’s Box, you will receive a complimentary copy.
