Biography
Jules is a former Software Engineer, and committed to delivering cutting edge knowledge and teaching. She is the BSc Software Engineering Programme Leader & a Lecturer within the School of Computer & Engineering Sciences in the Faculty of Science, Business and Enterprise. As a Professional Member of the BCS (MBCS) (British Computer Society) she also has an undergraduate degree BSc (Hons) in Software Development, an MSc in Digital Marketing, a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education and is a Fellow of the FHEA. In addition, she started her PhD in May 2024, which undertakes a deep dive into the furture of computing and ubiquitous computing, 'why are we still using pysical devices such as keyboards and mice and why haven't we moved on yet'
Teaching and Supervision
Jules teaches undergraduate students in Software Engineering subjects as well as postgraduate supervision for dissertation students in MSc Data Science and MSc Advanced Computer Science. Subjects taught: CO5077 Software Testing & Management (Module Leader) CO5078 Web Development (Co-Module Leader) CO5992 Experiential Learning (Co-Module Leader) CO5991 Work Placement (Co-Module Leader) Jules is interested in hearing from undergraduate students about opportunities to study in Software Engineering.
Research and Knowledge Exchange
Jules' research interests are primarily in UX/UI, HCI, Software Engineering, IOT product development, Sustainability & Environmental Research and how IT can help with the furture, flying cars and space travel - and amoungst this, ubiquitous computing and next gen tech.
