Biography

Kath Hayes is a registered Social Worker and a Senior Lecturer with significant practitioner and management experience of working with complex families and social care interventions. Kath worked as a Social Worker and subsequently managed teams and projects within the social care field including safeguarding children, fostering, looked after children, care leavers, domestic abuse, unaccompanied asylum seeking children and honour based violence. Kath has substantial experience of project management having managed a Multi-Systemic Therapy service, developed marketing and recruitment strategies for Local Authority foster carers and managed both mental health and domestic abuse supported accommodation projects. Kath is skilled in building rapport and developing bespoke interventions, alongside managing and designing impactful projects. Kath enjoys utilising knowledge from both the fields of psychology and Social Work, blending academic knowledge with practical expertise. Kath is driven by making a positive impact in the lives of individuals and families facing adversity.

Teaching and Supervision

Kath teaches across the BA Social Work, MA Social Work and Social Work Apprentice Degree programmes.
