Project description

This study is part of a larger project examining clergy children’s experiences. Each study will focus on a particular age group. This study will take a qualitative or mixed methods approach to explore the experiences of young people who are clergy children. It may include the use of visual methods and will focus on young people’s understanding of their experiences and the factors that influenced these. It will examine suggestions for the development of pastoral care for the future for clergy children. The study will be undertaken by an MRes student at the University of Chester in the Division of Psychology. Prof Lisa Oakley & Prof Moira Lafferty will supervise the study. As part of the funded MRes, the student will present the findings to the Clergy Support Trust, contribute to a peer-reviewed journal article, in addition to contributing to a PDF with key findings which can be freely shared.

The Division of Psychology has a history of successful postgraduate supervision and completion. All students on the course will take a methods module in advanced skills for practice and research
