Russia, Ukraine and the Revenge of History? with Mark Galeotti (International broadcaster on Russian politics)

Professor Mark Galeotti is an internationally renowned expert on Russian history, politics and security. He has currently a visiting professor at UCL, a Senior Associate Fellow at RUSI and head off the consultancy Mayak Intelligence. Mark has advised parliament, NATO and contributes widely to the international media about the situation in Russia and the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Europe has been plunged into the continent’s deadliest conflict since the Second World War. In this talk, Mark will outline the historical roots behind the Ukraine-Russia War. He will focus in particular on the development of two very different national histories, which have in turn informed competing visions of both the present and the future.
