Celebrating Success and Promoting Innovation
Centre for Academic Innovation and Development (CAID)
Develop the role of our Centre for Academic Innovation and Development (CAID) as a forum for sharing and evaluating best practice, training and supporting staff, and generating new ideas. We will explore how the new CAID Innovation Fellows can be used to champion and develop student engagement.
Accreditation
Review our accreditation schemes for recognising student achievements, in order to incentivise and promote student engagement. In particular, we will further develop and promote the Chester Difference Award (CDA) and Chester Credentials to ensure it encompasses a full range of co-curricular opportunities, including student voice representation.
Events
Offer a range of annual events that celebrate the achievements of students and staff relating to student engagement. We will review our current events and awards programme to identify opportunities to enhance and streamline. Relevant annual events include the Learning & Teaching Conference, the PGR Conference, the Research & Knowledge Exchange Festival, the Chester Difference, Volunteering and Valedictory Awards, Sport and Society Awards and the CSU 1839 Awards.
Access and Participation Plan
Utilise the institutional Access and Participation Plan (APP) as the basis for commissioning, funding and evaluating new innovation projects relating to student engagement. We will ensure that increasing the engagement of students from underrepresented groups is a core priority within the University’s new four-year APP.
