Biography

Laura is a BABCP accredited Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor with over 16 years experience of working within the field of adult mental health. Laura completed a first degree in Applied Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University. After graduating, she went on to train as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner working in primary care mental health services for several years before going on to undertake her training in CBT at the University of Chester. In addition to her academic appointment at the University of Chester, Laura continues to work as a Senior Psychotherapist within the NHS. She has a particular interest in trauma focused therapies and clinical supervision. Laura is also an EMDR consultant in training.

Teaching and Supervision

Laura teaches part time on the Post Graduate Diploma in CBT: High Intensity Training. Her main teaching role is to provide clinical supervision to students enrolled on the course.

Research and Knowledge Exchange

Laura has worked and continues to work as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist in the NHS. Her research interests include 3rd wave CBT and clinical supervision.
