Biography

Simone Benhafsi is a Criminology lecturer in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences and Education at the University of Chester, UK. Simone is module leader on a number of Criminology modules and teaching specialisms include research methods, policing and the criminal justice system and crime, harm and victimisation. Simone sits on the Ethics Committee for the department and with over eighteen years professional experience in criminal justice and the third sector, Simone is passionate about supporting students into future careers within the sector.

Teaching and Supervision

Simone has previously taught for three years at the University of South Wales as module leader on the Understanding Homicide module, prior to lecturing at the University of Chester. Simone holds a PG Cert in Teaching.

Research and Knowledge Exchange

Simone Benhafsi specialises in qualitative ethnographic research and research areas of interest include homicide, major crime investigation, digital forensics and community engagement and the night time economy.
