Geography and Environment

Teaching staff are recognised leaders in their fields, who treat students as learning partners. There are opportunities to undertake fieldwork in a range of challenging environments – from glacial forelands to volcanic slopes, and in some of the world’s most vibrant and influential cities.

We are based at the University’s historic Exton Park site, just a short walk from Chester city centre. Here students benefit from modern teaching facilities, including specialist laboratories with the latest geospatial technologies, as well as our staff ‘open-door’ policy for student support.

Our graduates work in a wide range of fields including: environmental consultancy; urban planning and construction; utilities and infrastructure; GIS consultancy; renewable energy; risk management; journalism and international development. Our alumni network also allows current students to build professional connections as they study.
